    “I’m going to build your home on unstable ground.”
    If you are having a home built, you will likely anticipate a few speed bumps, but you also expect that your home builder will construct your house on stable and solid ground, right?     “The public inspectors will not catch any poor work.”
    There are a number of builders that will try to dissuade homeowners from hiring a private inspector for the home. This is mainly due to the fact that public building inspectors are only looking to ensure your new house is built to code and that it is a safe place for you to live. They will not be looking to see if it has been well constructed. It is highly advisable that you seek your own inspector when the construction is complete to ensure that your home was not only built to code but that it was also constructed well.
