A vision to regenerate a stretch of coastline into a lively promenade of 70 seafood restaurants along the south coast of Zhoushan island – the municipal centre of an archipelago of islands 200km south of Shanghai.
Supporting Zhoushan’s tourism and fishing industry, the Yepaidang was visited by over 2 million people in 2012, contributed 40% additional revenue to the local economy, and generated a revenue of RMB 160 million in 2011. A truly cooperative design, flexible planning is the key.
Restaurant units can open up their dividing partition walls to combine together for large social gatherings, and separate for intimate family and corporate parties.
