House Pôr, designed by Studio Carlito e Renata Pascucci, is a 150m² residence located on the coast of São Sebastião, Brazil. Enchanted by the land’s sea view and natural surroundings, the couple from the studio created this house as their personal refuge. Situated between the mountains and the sea, the house serves as both a retreat and a rental property, offering a unique sensory experience.
The privileged location, with views of the Atlantic Forest and Toque-Toque Grande Beach, provides a seamless connection with nature.
The design welcomes residents as part of the natural landscape, with all rooms offering views of the surrounding scenery. The infinity pool, perched over 60 meters above sea level, appears suspended among the trees, enhancing the immersive experience with its bluish tone.
The compact and practical layout meets the needs of a couple’s life. The ground floor features an entrance hall, stairway access, a kitchen integrated with the living room and fireplace, a laundry room, a toilet, a barbecue area, a deck, and a pool, creating interactive spaces. The upper floor houses a generous suite with a closet, which opens to the solarium, a contemplative space with solar panels, and a water tank. Large window frames allow residents to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, a primary objective of the project.
Natural materials such as stone, wood, steel, and cement contribute to the contemporary architecture of straight lines and open spaces. The neutral base is contrasted by red accents on the staircase wall and kitchen joinery.
Several pieces of furniture were custom-designed by the office, including a freijó wood slat in the laundry room, a dining table made of demolition peroba wood, ironwood, and zebrawood crates used as a center table, a “Tetris” shelf in the hall with freijó wood and straw, a slatted “boteco” style table in the barbecue area, and the kitchen structure, bed, and bedside tables in the suite. The interior decor features signature pieces by designers such as Jean Gillon’s Jangada armchair, stools from Fernando Jaeger’s island collection, a cocar from the Caraiva indigenous tribe, Diego Limberti’s oil painting “Dinosaur Head,” chairs and a sofa from Estúdio Bola, serigraphs by Estúdio Moa above the headboard, and a graffiti piece by Ricardo AKN on the staircase wall. These artistic elements add to the poetic nature of Casa Pôr, which captures the local essence and coastal ambiance.
