Rehabilitation of the Agricultural Cooperative for a Multipurpose and Cultural Space in Flix transforms part of a historic agricultural cooperative complex into a cultural center shaped by conservation, material continuity, and environmental responsibility. Camps Felip Arquitecturia preserves the typological structure of the nave while adapting it for contemporary multipurpose use. A ceramic interior finish unifies the open space and improves thermal and acoustic performance, supporting the functional requirements of a public cultural venue. The project uses handcrafted ceramic brick, reinforcing local building traditions and supporting the regional economy through locally sourced materials. Reuse plays a central role in the intervention, allowing existing elements to remain part of the building’s renewed life while reducing unnecessary waste. Efficient systems further lower energy consumption, and the long-lasting ceramic material contributes to reduced environmental impact through durability, insulation, and the potential for reuse.

It is treated as a social landmark whose architectural renewal allows previous communal functions to be extended into new cultural uses.

Camps Felip Arquitecturia’s intervention is defined by restraint and continuity. The original nave remains legible, with its spatial character preserved rather than obscured by excessive additions. This open configuration allows the building to accommodate varied cultural and public programs while maintaining the clarity of its industrial and agricultural origins. The design gives priority to the existing structure, using new architectural elements to reinforce rather than compete with its inherited identity.

Ceramic is central to the project’s architectural language and technical performance. Applied as a unifying interior finish, it brings coherence to the space while addressing the environmental and acoustic demands of a multipurpose venue.
